caleymars is on a distinguished road
Default moving from australia

My husband and I want to move to America from Australia with our young twins Hallie and Byron. As we're from another country we dont really know areas and what are good places to live in so we'd really appreciate some help:

What we are looking for:
-somewhere warm (the only place we knew was warm was california, if you could suggest other states too that would be great). Would like to avoid snow.
-fairly affordable
-small-ish town but not too small (no less than about 10,000 people) and not too far from good hospitals and doctors, shopping centres, museums etc.
-good neighbourhood to raise kids in, good schools with at least one private school nearby
-somewhere with nearby forests, lakes or parks. It would be good for our business if we could get a place with a view.

Thank you!

Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, the Gulf coast states, Florida. These states are warm as well. CA has the best weather all around IMO. I'm not a fan of humidity. I'll have to think on the fairly-affordable part.

A tall order. You have, on first glance, a lot of conflicting criteria.
If you didn't need to avoid snow, there would be a lot of places west of the Rockies that might suit you.
Or New England may be another possibility but you don't want the snow/winters.
Snob that i am, i'd say avoid the mid-west, and the south (including Florida and Texas!).
