"Also, I have a year round, gold bearing creek, 170 foot tall pines, large cottonwoods, maple, oak, apple, cherry, and pear trees, and vast quantities of black berry vines (my favorite fruit) to harvest in the summer. From my house I can see across the central valley (including the skyscrapers in Sac) to the coast ranges (over 100 miles), up north to hills above Napa, and south as far as Mt. Diablo."

Your situation and area sounds wonderful. Who wouldn't want a gold bearing crick near your property along with the views, Might you give me the location? Doesn't have to be the exact gps location just a town will do?

A paved over wasteland complete with coked out Mel Gibson looking for banned hydrocarbons for his NON-CARB approved two-stroke backpack leaf blower.

Mmmmm ... how will California look in the future, compared to a place like, say, N. Dakota?

Can I answer that one? Just a few adjustments needed to Fargos post:

I had to put on my Fargoboundgoggles to see that point of view though.

By the time I'm ready for the Soylent Green factory I imagine it'll have about three times the population it had when I was born in 1960 (50 million vs 16 million). That is if I make it to around 85! Such a shame. That's third world growth rates. While we don't live in shanties or tin roof shacks like a third world country that's still a lot of land paved over for homes, retail and roads. My mom's 85 and she's seen it grow a lot more in her lifetime (almost six times), but it was a lot emptier back then.

Guess that's what happens when you are a small, desirable part of a much larger country (where people can move where they please) plus a greatly increased rate of foreign immigration (where about 40% of the national total came here for decades).

I think Fargo is the literal truth of what's going on in the great state of North Dakota.

Shoot. I considered visiting Arizona again. But discovered watching Raising Arizona again cured that.

Those pictures that Nullgeo posted actually do look like the scenes in Fargo.

Here I thought they might of been on location in Montana or something sneaky like that.
