If you’re considering Bear Valley Spings the private gated community just out side of the city of Tehachapi check with the county of Kern for any questions that you may have regarding property lines, easements and sq. footage. If you have horses make sure that the land you are researching is utilizable all year long. Winter snow melts can reduce the usable land considerably because of flooding. Do not rely on any realtor for accurate information on these issues. A tall tale the realtors use to advertise a property is “Horse facilities and Turn out pasture”. Most likely the property does not have these features but because the BVS Equestrian center does some realtors try to trick buyers with that blurb. Not all the residences are private family homes. State and/or County group homes are operating in the Bear Valley Springs community. Most residents do not know this until there is a problem. BVSA/ECC does not inform the residences of this type of operation. Beware. As of this writing I’m trying to get information on a halfway home for ex offenders on Bear Valley Road. Any information is greatly appreciated.
