I'd love to and maybe I will when the time comes that they don't have a choice. We were at an Angels night game recently with my parents and my mom was practically freezing to death at all of about 60 degrees with a light breeze. When we got home, my wife and I both said, "Yeah, she's not moving to Denver."

That's why I like Texas. I have the house at 80 in the winter and I run around opening windows in the summer letting in warm air, hubby runs behind me closing them to keep it cool. I guess Denver would be one of the worst choices if you're cold blooded. California's been good weather wise, it's just not enough anymore. People say won't you miss the weather. Well yes, but it's only weather.

Let me put it this way. When a storm comes in, we head for the mountains near the state line, the deeper the snow, and the colder, the better.

California has climates that range from hot dry deserts with 330 days of sunshine a year to chilly humid coastal forests with 240 overcast days a year and everything in between. There are as many people in California trying to get away from the kind of weather that prevails in their area as there are people who want to stay because of it.

I left because of the weather. Seriously, after several days over 100, maybe even 110 in Fresno (heat wave in July 2006), and poor air quality, we started looking for jobs out of state.

That's why I hate Texas. Other than Florida, there isn't a state that I'd less like to live in. You say it's just the weather - - but it's not like I'm going to be espcaping that. Certainly, as another poster said, weather is drastically different in different parts of the state. I could take any of those weather types before I'd take one week of Texas humidity. I think that's why violent crime rates are worse in Texas and Florida - - people's nerves are frayed from walking through a greenhouse 24/7!
