I have lived in Magalia for over 25 years. Our 3 kids went thru the school system from K-12. They went to elementary in Magalia, also refered to as Paradise Pines. We had no problems. I have no idea about sex offenders, but I don't know any

We were born and raised in SoCa and had to get away and found this area very pretty and the weather is good and the price was right. If you choose Magalia we can get alittle more snow that Paradise. That can be a plus or minus, we always enjoy it when it snows although sometimes you can't get out as soon as you can in Paradise. The lower end of town you are refering to is called the banana belt cuz it is alittle warmer in the winter and also summer. Magalia can be alittle cheaper than Paradise. I don't know about less rift raft. i think both area have their fair share.
