Default What's it like for minorities (Mexican, Black, Indian etc)that live in Yucaipa, California?

Originally from Orange County, I am looking for a place that has more land (a nice yard in back) for cheaper. I have friends that live in the Redlands/Highland area. As you guessed, we are minorities. What is it like to live in Yucaipa ( which I saw on data stats as a mostly caucasian town?). My family is considering moving there. Thanks!

Where is your job?
Since Yucaipa is sort of "out there", what happens when you lose your job and you have to "commute in"?
How are the schools?
What will happen if you have to sell and move?

I would think racial numbers would not be in the top five concerns.

Races in Yucaipa:
  • White Non-Hispanic (76.7%) (Same as California at 76%)
  • Hispanic (18.3%)
  • Other race (8.0%)
  • Two or more races (3.5%)
  • American Indian (2.2%)
  • Black (0.9%)
Races in Orange County, California:
  • White Non-Hispanic (51.3%)
  • Hispanic (30.8%)
  • Other race (14.8%)
  • Vietnamese (4.8%)
  • Two or more races (4.1%)
  • Chinese (2.1%)
  • Korean (2.0%)
  • Filipino (1.7%)
  • Black (1.7%)
  • American Indian (1.3%)
  • Japanese (1.1%)
  • Other Asian (1.0%)
  • Asian Indian (1.0%)

Actually, the job is very close to Yucaipa at present. About a fifteen minute drive.
