55+ Mobile Home Parks. Chico and North
Hi,
I live in the Chico area and am interested in nice 55+ mobile home parks in Northern California. Chico, Redbluff, Anderson, Redding. (not Oroville)
I'd like a newer home. Close to shopping or on a bus line as I don't plan on having a car when I retire.
I drove through the Casa De Flores park in Chico and it just depressed me. Most homes were older, very close and the street areas were so narrow. Some places had a lot of junk on their decks and patios.
I have family that live in a 55+ park which is much nicer. It's not fancy but the streets are wider and junk like bags of aluminum cans would never be allowed.
Any insights would be appreciated. Thank you.

I lived in Chico for three years at Coach House Mobile Estates on Lassen Avenue. I've been out of Chico since 2002, so I don't know what it's like now. Three people moved new mobile homes onto empty lots when I was there, but the streets are narrow though. You're going to find a lot older mobile homes, though. Your best bet is to look them all up online or in the phone book, and drive through them. I don't know about the other cities, though, they might have more to offer. I can tell you that the public transportation in Chico isn't very good - the busses only run once per hour.

You should go check out kentwood moblie estates. It is at 123 Henshaw Ave. It is a very nice park. My grandmother lived there. Very nice people and nice mobiles. You are close to Albertson's well it was Albertson's not sure what it is called now. A lot of people have golf carts and they have a key to the back gate. So they ride over there and do all their shopping and things. They also have a nice swimming pool and once a year they have a park Bar B.Q., a park yard sale and they have lot's of activties in the club house. The manager is very nice.

Thank you Flyguy. I didn't know about this park. I will check into it.
Thank you Moved. Going through the phone book (or online) and driving through some parks is a great idea. Maybe I could call and get some stats on the parks also.
Was not aware the buses only went once an hour. That's an issue if it's raining or very hot. Good to know.

The public transportation system may have changed by now, and the busses run more often. But I would definitely check into it.
My ex lived in lots of mobile homes. He said to drive in and out of them to see how the park is maintained, and if you find a home you're interested in, then talk to the managers.

Your Welcome Paige5! Good luck too you! I will say that we checked a lot of the parks out before moving my grandma down there and i felt that was the best park. It is very well maintained. And she felt very safe there. Not to mention that everyone looks out for one another and is always willing to help out. hope this helps you out.
