I am not talking about TAXES or the economy, I am talking about quality of life issues such as crime, education, health, etc.. get it? Not everything revolves around taxes and money except in some people's minds.
Go look up lists of the least educated states, states with the most poverty, states with the highest illiteracy, states with the most obese people, states with the most crime, states with highest teen pregnancy rates, states with the least amount of uninsured people (TX is #1 there btw), median income, etc... Then maybe that will give you a better picture of type of what states rank where.
Yes Arizona kicks ass as being rated the "dumbest state" in America as well as some of the highest crime. Yes you obviously do not know what I am talking about here, not a surprise though either.
I don't even buy into that crap that states are this or that b/c they are blue/democrat or red/republican. But I was just pointing out how BS it is to blame everything wrong with CA on democrats but conveniently ignore all of the glaring problems other states controlled by republicans or that are solidly red/conservative have b/c its fits your narrow point of view.

CA has a ton of crime, many CA cities such as Stockton have some of the highest murder rates in the nation. 40% of CA's budget goes to education yet most of our public schools are trash and teachers are paid barley anything. CA has some great colleges but most states have good colleges. My friends daughter got a full ride to the University of Indiana and got her teaching credentials and she actually ended up staying there because teachers are actually payed well in some states. She can actually buy a home all on her own, what a concept. Health care? In what regard? If you have a decent job you get a health care plan no matter what state you are in. CA does not dish out free health care as far as I know. I will look into some of these stats, because it seems like you are just making them up.

Oh, I found the article where Arizona is the dumbest state coming in 50/50. Guess where California ranked, 47/50. Yea, we are so much better.
"California ranked 47th on the list followed by Mississippi, Nevada and Arizona. "
Arizona ranks as dumbest state in the U.S. - Phoenix Business Journal:

I'm talking about EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT, not just how good schools are. Doesn't really matter how good a school is if few people in the state actually attend college.
Also CA's has the best public university system with the UC system in the nation.

I was speaking GENERALLY about red/republican states and their lower quality of life rankings compared to more blue/democratic states. There will be exceptions of course which is why I said "nearly all" in my earlier post.

Well you claim CA has a high quality of life in regards to education, and the study you cited says it does not. How is the CA college system so superior to other states?

Which other states? Based on what? Cheaper cost of living is a good thing so I don't know what your getting at there. Obesity, heart disease, etc. is not really the government's responsibility. If you wanna eat, eat. If you wanna be fit, be fit. The CHOICE is yours, ya know, that freedom thing. Well if CA is in fact dishing out free health care there is another reason our budget is so messed up. Health care is not a right.

NO I never claimed that, please show me where I said that. Please go reread and comprehend what I wrote b/c you just don't seem to get what I was saying at all.
The quality of education at the UC's. CA has 3 of the Top 10 public schools in the nation (UCB, UCLA, UCSD)

You have the internet here, go and use it and stop expecting me to spoon feed you everything.
Either way all you will do is come up with more excuses but the fact of the matter is red/conservative states tend to rank lower on quality of life issues generally speaking. Whether you can accept that fact or not is not my problem.
