Default drivers license as an internationmal student?

Hi

I'm staying for 1 year, and i was wondering if i could get a drivers license in ca. i'm over 18, no drivers license from my native country, but i can drive.

At 18 you just need to pass the tests: written and driving. Bring birth certificate and passport.

I think you also need to show length of stay meets a certain requirement.

I have hosted International Students that easily obtained CA licenses and recent students have been denied because the length of stay was too short.
