Folsom vs Santa Clara (Sacramento: 2009, crime rates, houses)

What are pros/cons for moving to Folsom vs Santa Clara area?
I mean house pricing, schools, job market, crime and so on

Folsom is way out by Sacramento has two times less people and is less expensive. Santa Clara is in the Silicon Valley, much more expensive and has a high Asian population. Nothing like Folsom other than it's in California.

Santa Clara is a wealthy suburb with the tech industry as a job base.

Folsom is typical suburbia with lots of tract homes.
Santa Clara is typical suburbia with lots of tract homes.

Santa Clara (2006) 108,518

One thing you are right about is that Santa Clara has a much higher Asian population than Folsom which is majority white. Other than that, I don't see what the difference is.

Why did you not post the Average Home costs? Santa Clara homes are on average almost 300k more than Folsom. Folsom is not what I would call a desirable area. Santa Clara and the area is MUCH different than Sacramento and it's suburbs. I.E. Folsom. Its the central valley. Santa Clara is very safe for a place with over 100k people, you have to be really paranoid to be worried about safety in a place like that.

Ok? I don't think its a desirable area either but I also don't find Santa Clara a desirable area. Not sure what that has to do with the OP since he is obviously looking for wealthy suburbs and both Santa Clara and Folsom both fit the bill.

Santa Clara is not much different than Folsom IHMO. Santa Clara is much different than Sacramento but Sacramento is also much different than Folsom. I'm not sure what the Central Valley has anything to do with this conversation since Sacramento has nothing in common with any other city in the Central Valley other than Heat but even that is much more mild in Sacramento.

Folsom is much more upscale(even though Santa Clara is probably wealthier) and prettier. The houses there much nicer than houses in Santa Clara.

I was looking at the wrong data , with that said, 2007 shows it's closer to a 200k difference in housing costs, which is still alot.

I said that because it affects the cost of housing. I wouldn't call Folsom or Santa Clara a wealthy suburb, since when was an area with a median 500k Home value considered wealthy?

But it's still the central valley and the air quality is bad. Santa Clara is in the bay area it feels very different than being way out in folsom which makes it relevant discussion IMO. I also do not like Santa Clara by the way. IMO I just don't think the two are the same and I don't think they are "Wealthy" suburbs. Just suburbs. The OP needs to visit both places. I have to go to Folsom a lot because there are two prisons there we work with. I just don't find the area appealing.
