Come to Texas .. my car registration fees were $58

However it is 106 degrees which keeps the Riff Raff out.
Its gets quite hot here as well but little or no humidity. It was 101 degrees yesterday & alot of the riff raff love the heat especially the illegals.

I shelled out $160 to re-register my car a few weeks ago. It's expensive, but every state gets you one way or another. In New York you have to get your registration renewed every two years, but you have to get yearly vehicle inspections which we don't have here.

This petition is worthless - we're sending out IOUs to business, people, and other things.. I truly think a petition begging to charge us less money isn't going to fly.

I can remember when a non op was $5.00. Now its $18.00 & expected to go up again. The state hits us big time on dmv fees. Im paying $68.00 registration for a 19 yr old car (56.00 state, 10.00 county, 2.00 vlf). Some counties are more & some are less. If you dont pay your registration fee on time the thieves hit you with penalties big time & if your non op is one day past the due date it nearly doubles. One thing for sure about the dmv is one way or another they got you. I hate the dmv!

The DMV is the highest profile State agency most people deal with... just imagine if we had to deal with more DMV like agencies?

The last 3 years the DMV has:

Cashed my registration check and then sent me a penalty notice for not paying... it took a visit to my local State Representative to finally get it straightened out.

Sent my a penalty notice because my Non Op Car was ticketed for street sweeping violation in Los Angeles... I live in several hundred miles to the North in Oakland and my car is being restored and the motor is out for rebuild.

Renewed my license and my Motorcycle Endorsement was not on my new license... had to go to the office and it took a supervisor to verify that I do have a motor cycle license and order a new corrected license.

Sent me Passenger Car Plates for my Car Trailer...

SF Chronicle had a story stating there is broad support for increasing vehicle fees and average of $90 per vehicle to help with the budget.

Remember when NON-OPS were free? I still have a restoration project that I went NON-OP in the late 70's... I can only imagine what I will have to go through getting tags for it someday.

I can honestly see why the ca dmv is well despised by many. Over the years i have had some rude clerks. Its ashame the way they treat people. When their time comes to enter the gates of heaven they will be turned away. That goes for the legislature as well.

Online petitions are worthless just like the ca legislature, dmv & ftb. When is someone going to go "postal" on them ?

A more effective petition is the ballot.
