I had to Google to see who he was and what he was doing... He's building soundstages in Atlanta. There is a hstory of doing this (building soundstages outside of California) and you should check out what happened to all the soundstages built in Florida, particularly around Orlando. It always starts with a lot of hype ("The movie business is fleeing LA!") and ends with a lot of empty soundstages that someone has to figure out what to do with.

Didn't you know? The last 8 years were great, all problems today are the "libs" fault.

And what's Connecticut going to have to show for all that welfare they threw to the production company in a year or two when the show is inevitably cancelled? States would do much better spending their money on building long term businesses and developing industries than poaching temp jobs from other regions.

UB50, the studio doesn't just contain sound. It is a good investment for him and the city as he shoots most of his shows and films in Atlanta. Tyler Perry is very popular even in Hollywood how could you not know who he is:

Soundstage defintion: "A soundstage is a soundproof, hangar-like structure, building or room, used for the production of theatrical motion pictures and television shows, usually inside a movie studio."

UB50 I know exactly what a soundstage definition is (grew up around them my entire life). The Tyler Perry Studios is much more as it has offices, its own writing team (which of course the CA unions don't appreciate), and is trying to promote business within the community it is housed in (they also have a sister company which does other stuff as well). Of course they would like to be similar to Harpo Studios, Lucas Films, Paramount and even Pixar.
