Home of Bakersfield, Fresno and Manteca.

I remember fondly the days I spent fueling my truck in 110 degree temps in the valley. Even more fondly the mistaken turn thru Manteca, who would know by the lovely breeze that there was a pig rendering plant only 50 feet away.

I have friends that live in Manteca and they love it. They have actually lived their for years. When I go visit I have a nice time there. But what I did learn is that most of the people in their neighborhood do not actually work in Manteca.

Majin... I'm sure your smile could be used by some when referring to the place you choose to live, wherever that may be.

The Central Valley works for some people. Doesn't work for others. Just like other parts of Cali work for some and not others.

Califre... glad you're happy there! Hard to find people in the Cali forum that don't complain!

Dunno about Manteca, but Fresno is California's armpit and Bakersfield is it's crotch.
