Northern California help....
Hey....I'm new to this site. I'm going to be moving to Northern California in about a month and wondered if some local Northerners could help me out. I'm 27 years old and want to check out the Emerald Valley area. Are there any cities that you would recommend that I check out first? Eureka? I'm looking to get into the budding economy (pun intended) out there.

Do you have any type of job in place? Not a good time to be winging it. The coast even the northern coast is very expensive to just exist on. We lived inland in the Chico area and that is a great little college town to visit and poke around in. Housing is not as bad as some areas in northern CA. Best of luck and stop by Montery and the Napa wine country just for the experience. It is some of the most beautiful land in the USA.

Thanks for the reply. No, I don't have a job in place but I think I'll be alright once I get out there. I have enough money saved that I can go without work for a period of time, while I get started up and everything. I don't know if I'm allowed to be talking about this here but, I want to be a grower. I'm not interested in making a ton of money. I just want to live a stress free life.

"Growing" and "stress-free" don't go together.

are you kidding?
you are quite naive and probably not ready for the undertaking if you don't know what kind of energies and situations you'll potentially be dealing with and why it can be really stressful.
it may be a good idea to get truly embodied and grounded and "real" about things before you go wandering into the emerald triangle.
at some point i imagine this thread will be deleted or at least closed.
appealing to folks on city-data-forum for guidance regarding your plans is a bit lame and reveals that you need some experience.
maybe someone who is knowledgeable will send you a private message and clue you in a bit.
btw, it's almost august.

I sincerely apologize. I didn't mean to offend anyone or break the forum rules. I don't think before I speak/write sometimes.

i don't know if you've broken rules.
no one is getting down on you.
i was imagining that at some point, if too much of a certain kind of information gets posted, the thread might get closed.
i smoke herb.
my friend grows and it can be very stressful.
no problem.
it's just that you seem kind of clueless about growing and all that it entails.
