You may have more luck and better responses if you post your question(s) about a particular part of california on the forum that corresponds with that part of california that you're asking about.
there will be more people on the L.A. forum that live in the L.A. area.
dig?
just an idea but it may just work.

Sorry I didn't know about the L.A. forum, first time on this forum. thanks

I know you are trying to give good advise, but in this case you are not. Acadia takes in more than just Arcadia schools, if she finds an aparrtment for the price you are mentioning it will be, most like El Monte schools.

I've seen listings for what appear to be nice places in Arcadia for under or around $1500/month; some advertise their Arcadia school status, but it is a good point that she should be sure to confirm school district before signing the lease. I think prices seem to have come down on rentals lately. If (and this is admittedly a big if right now) they are able to get jobs lined up and make the move to southern CA, then she should also be ready to move as fast as possible to snap up a good deal on an apartment. Still, just taking a look at the rentals now (I tend to look at the South Pasadena listings) there are so many more in my target price range than there were three years ago when we last signed our South Pasadena lease.

Nita, I know because I've been looking in that area myself. They're there. I am providing current information about Arcadia. If I hadn't been looking and finding, I would certainly not be posting about them.
I'm getting the information from craigslist and westside rentals, the rental-information places.
As to the OP's other threads, I was not aware of them, or her desire for action or whatever. I agree that Arcadia is not the place for that.

Just a couple of things, 1-checking Craigs list isn't going to do much. Most of their stuff is outdated or 1/2 truths. Yes, they do have apartments in Arcadia for $1500 a month, my point, most of these will be El Monte schools, It is like saying Temple City has such and such, but the school district could be EL Monte, Temple City and/or Arcadia. There are a couple of apartment buildings that could be Arcadia schools for that price, but they are absolutely awful. Everyone has his/her ideas, I know I wouldn't want my kids anywhere near that area...
As for her other threads she has at three that I know of, but that really has little to do with this.
I hope you are successful finding a nice apartment in Arcadia, with Arcadia schools for $1500 a month. Do you have addresses for these apartments or do you know about where they are.
I just did a google check on the only 2 buildings in Arcadia that have 2 bedrooms under $1500. They are both on Duarte Rd, which is very busy but if you don't mind a lot of traffic it might be ok. I did actually put in a phoney name etc for the Contenental apartments and there is nother available for $1500. They do start below that. The rest that pop up (other buildings) if you look close are not really in arcadia. In fact even in San Gabriel and El Monte most are a little over $1500 to start.

My sister lives in L.A. (near La Brea/Wilshire) with 2 children. I don't understand your question why you would be asking if people would live in L.A. with kids. I also a few cousins grew up in L.A. (meaning I had aunts & uncles living in L.A.)
