Reminds me of a meme someone shared with me:

The irony isnít lost on me that someone from out of state calls everyone a-holes on a thread about people from SoCal being rude. I think this is a good example of ďit takes one to know oneĒ

Iíve been in San Diego since I was a young child and I genuinely find the overwhelming majority of people I come in contact with are friendly, especially when you are first. All I ever hear from people from all over the country, and world for that matter, that come into my establishment on vacation is how nice everyone is.

It's all relative...
I just moved to California and find the people to be quite pleasant overall. Not too friendly, but certainly not rude either. Most are courteous and most seem just fine to me. I live in OC.

I think a lot has to do with what region you live in. SD and OC people on the whole are pleasant and like optimus prime said not too friendly not too rude. LA is a lot more stressful area to live in... horrible traffic, cut throat fake elitist people, I think that comes out in rudeness of a lot people there. Now San Fran I hear is the worst!! They say nobody will look at you much less talk to you. They have a lost vacant look. They're very depressed, lot's of Asperger tech people, the dating scene is non existent. SF is #1 for rudeness by far.

on the whole fighting traffic, trying to pay your rent or mortgage, dealing with the horrible politicians makes Californians stressed out and probably rude. A lot like NY I think.

taco maybe you need to reread the post- i was born and raised - 64 years in la county - my sister lived in chula vista all her adult life- dont sit there and tell me SD and all of SO cal has not changed for the worse -

the vast majorities of the immigrant cultures that have moves into the region DO NOT assimulate or want too just look at area like garden grove - hacienda heights - Santa ana - alhambra - pomona - moreno valley - dont - why in hell do school district all over have to have up to 30 different language instructors - dont tell me whole cities have billboards in Chinese or Spanish - yea if they wanted others to visit or shop they sure as hell dont have the welcome matt out

Some ppl are rude here, I call it more "half-baked" mentality. Being a native East Coaster and moved here from South Florida almost 3 years ago, I can tell you ppl there are 10 times worse on the a hole factor, especially when driving.

I live in Southern California - born and raised 65 yrs. Your just not in touch with the nice folks. Most are transplants anyway (the ones who are rude). Just saying.

You sound like someone who wouldn't be happy anywhere, and who could find the "liberal" bogeyman anywhere.

Did you know that testosterone supplementation can radically improve your mood, at your age? The curmudgeon phenomenon is linked to declining testosterone levels. In males. I assume you're male.

I would be curious how accurate this list is. I am surprised though Los Angeles did not make the list. Everytime I go there or just thru or around there I would be sure to encounter many many nasty people.
