I think more people are rude now due to the economy being as bad as it is. Sometimes im in a checkout lane at the store & i just dont want to talk to anyone. I often want to get in & out of the store plus i hate crowds & long lines.

Man, I am not the strongest of Ca supporters, but I really have never thought of those in So Ca as being unusually rude: try the east coast.

Most people here are yuppies. They are all about their money, and they don't really enjoy themselves much because they are constantly working and chasing money without stopping to smell the roses.

Also the poorer peope around here struggle hard and are living a life similar to people in developing countries. Poor, unable to afford anything, so they are angry.

And finally, it's that good old American rudeness. From coast to coast, the USA is a fairly rude place and SoCal is no different. People just have an individualist "It's all about me, i'm gonna get mine" attitude.

I totally disagree with you: most of America isn't rude: try NM, most of TX, La, MS, AR, MO just to mention a few places. I am sure there are many others.
