Come to Palm Springs. People are very polite, customer service is very good, and there's never a traffic problem.

I think a lot of people forget that there are other cities in Southern California besides Los Angeles, and so they end up saying things like, "Why is everyone in Southern California so rude?" If they really believe that, then I have no idea of what they're talking about.

I couldn't agree more with this post. I have always been treated great by SoCal people everywhere I have been. Among other places, this includes staying (and partying) on the Sunset Strip, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and down in both Orange Co. and San Diego. Compared with the East Coast, SoCal people seem alot more laid-back, freindly, and helpful to outsiders. The drivers are also more polite than in the East. I don't see a problem in SoCal with excessive rudeness. Even places in the midwest like Chicago and Detroit are at least as rude as SoCal is.

Too many freekin' people out here for starters....

The "dog-eat-dog" mentality that permeates every aspect of life out here

I won't even go into the racial tensions....

Although there are nice, friendly, down-to-earth people (even some of the women LoL). Though in many cases, they were transplants from somewhere else...

This is also one of the most ignorant things I have ever read.
Last week I was at a store minding my own business and some guy came up to me and hit on me. I wasn't interested, and attempted to leave the area, and he sort of followed me around. I guess once he got to his buddies he labeled me as one of these "b****es" that you are talking about. Guess I shouldn't have worn short pants on a very hot day, or had hair on my head, or had shaved legs, or wore a shirt that showed my arms, or have been a female. It was all my fault. I was just asking to get oogled at or hit on because I wasn't wearing a burqa. How dare I.
Maybe you two should learn to accept people's boundaries and take responsibility for your actions instead of labeling people "b****es" for not going along with your every wish and whim.
