This is sad. The low life who murdered this innocent, pretty, 17 yr old girl (lily burk) should be executed as should all murderers. I know exactly what her family is going through & it will be awhile until this murder case goes to trial (unless he plea bargains). The murdering scum brutally beat her up, smashed her head into the car windshield & slit her throat. I sure hope the court system treats lily burks family better then they have treated my family in the past 6.4 yrs since my sister was brutally murdered as well. Read what happened to lily. May she RIP! http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la...,2024771.story

Murders happen in every big city every day. What's the point of this? Nobody is immune to crime.

Weird case. There must be a back story behind the scenes. Was she part of a small group? Who else was in that group?

I wonder if there is a story behind the story, regardless, our prayers go out to her and her family. I will agree with City Boy, murders happen daily in every metro city. Even here in our little community we have a few each year. I am not quite sure why Eagle started this thread??

It's always big news when the murderer is a black male and the victim is a pretty young white girl. It ain't fair, but that's the way it is.

I started this thread cause i wanted to. I know first hand what the victims family is going through. This has nothing to do with race. I didnt know the low life killer was black until a hour ago. It was a botched robbery & he wanted no witness. He just didnt have to murder her. I sure hope something happens to him in state prison.

I wasn't referring to you, I was referring to the overall attention this story will get.

eagle7 did not know, nor did the general public know the suspect was black. As I stated in another thread. Murders do happen almost everyday in LA, so only murders or deaths that involve unusual circumstance will get the most coverage. The violent kidnapping and death of a minor in broad daylight would count as unusual, just as in the shooting death of Jamiel Shaw (a 17 yeard old black football player), who was also killed.

This has nothing to do with race.

Well -- it sounds like he's a repeat offender who always gets released by a very lax on crime system and now an innocent girl is dead.
