Does Ojai, CA have distinctive seasons?
...Do the trees change color, etc.?
Curious.

Yes, the deciduous trees' leaves turn color. As far as distinctly different, when the Santa Ana winds hit, December is distinctly warmer than June. |

Ojai is beautifull all year round.
One thing is for sure, being close to the Topa Topa's when they have snow on them the Ojai Valley does have a chill. Although snow is not too far away it seldom if ever would be in the Ojai valley. Not to say that has never happened, but when it does the snow doesn't have any staying power.

Here are the average temperatures for Ojai, California.
OJAI, CALIFORNIA - Climate Summary
The average high/low in January (the coldest month) is 66.6/36.7. Nights are chilly, but definitely not a "4 seasons" climate. |

No, Ojai does not have four really distinct seasons. Deciduous trees do change color, but the only native deciduous tree I can think of is sycamore, which turns yellow-brown. Liquid ambers are used quite a bit as landscape trees and their bright green leaves morph into oranges and reds during fall. Birches, also commonly planted for landscape, turn yellow as do ginkos.
Once in a great while a tiny bit of snow falls in Upper Ojai but never stays. Sometimes temperatures do dip below freezing and there can be frost in the early morning in winter. On the opposite side of the spectrum, summer can get quite hot. It tends to cool down nicely in the evening, though. Some variety in the seasons but not all what most would consider "four seasons."
