I was watching CBS Sunday Morning the other day and that guy Ben Stein (Clear Eyes commercials), just laid it out straight about CA. He said that although CA is going through some changes, it's still the Golden State. It's still a paradise and anybody that's there is lucky to be there. He described the weather as making you "happy to just to be alive". Then they showed this image of these beautiful Mediterranean hills with what must have have been the valley in the background. I hit the pause on the DVR and looked at it for like 5 minutes on my mom's high def tv.

Life could be very beautiful indeed, when you are a rich person...

California is definitely pricey - but that's for a reason. It truly is the Golden State and, while there are many tarnished areas (meaning affordability), I can't think of anyplace else I'd rather be than California.

The "changes" California is going through involve locking people who aren't rich out of any kind of quality of life.

If I were a multi-millionaire I'd probably think California was a paradise, too.

I don't particularly like Ben Stein so I usually take what he says with a GIANT grain of salt.

That said... I like living in California. Ya know, I think I might LOVE it. I'm far from a millionaire (I'm a hundredaire!) and still live quite happily and comfortable.

I am not a CA basher, but it certainly is not the CA of my youth. I miss it terribly and dream often of it. I wish nothing but the best for CA and hope it comes back soon.
