hi, please help me think through the good and not so good points of living in slo. I would love to live an easy ride to the beach. Want to own my home - how do the prices compare to sf and marin? Do you really have to prepare for flooding every winter. How about making friends - is the town 'small town feeling'? Can't wait to hear from you (all) judi

Prepare for flooding every year - I wish. I'd LOVE to get a boat load of rain - in a steady stream of course.
Seriously though, I work in SLO and love it. Speaking of boat loads, you need it in cash. Jobs are tight, don't pay too well, and housing is still amazingly expensive. Sure, it has come down, but not affordabale by any means.
There are threads and threads on SLO. Do a search and all your questions should get answered. If not, just ask, and I'll try and help.
