If this has been brought up in an earlier post, I apologize, but I have not read the entire thread. LA radio stations are now consistently running commercials where "Cali" or "Southern Cali" is part of the script. If your media is using the term, the battle is lost. (Disclaimer: these radio stations tend to skew younger, but even more reason to realize the battle has been lost)

hey I just wanted some of you to know I was talking to a friend of mine who is a native californian and still living there and he said CALI. Don't worry I corrected him, he did act a little confused. lol
He is up in Northern California, maybe the is out of the loop, who knows. but I told him to never never never EVER say Cali again.

I told him about this forum, hopefully he will stop in.

And who runs those stations? New Yorkers and other East Coast types.

Hey, thanks for stopping by and letting us know. Glad to see we've converted you, this is quite a change from the rather bitter/hostile comments you were making a couple of days ago.

Borrowing from a non-rap musical genre, how about "Calistan" (Frank Black):

I put down my blanket on Cigarette Butt Beach
I saw the old man, he was doing OK
He's making his last stand
On old bottles and cans
'Round there, Calistan way
