Default Central Park Area in San Mateo

Hi All -

Do folk know if the area around Central Park in San Mateo is a good area? It seems borderline - nice condos west of El Camino on one side, and railroad/east San Mateo on the other. Thoughts?

Hayward Park is considered a relatively good area now, whereas 20 years ago it was a plain old barrio. I'd say anything between 92 and Central Park, west of the tracks, is worth considering.
