Been noticing lots of people using this forum instead of the SF Forum for things San Mateo, Marin, Oakland, Fremont, etc, etc, etc.

For those positing from out of state, would advise learning a bit more about the geography of our state. It seems that many do not realize that the places they are asking about are part of the greater SF conurbation, a sprawling megacity circling the entire southern part of the SF Bay and with major satellites along the northern part of SF Bay, along San Pablo Bay and inland from the bay shore.

Yep! That about describes the People's Republic of Bay!

Yes, this is my pet peeve too. Far too many geographical illiterates are posting around here in the wrong California forums, and the Mods aren't cleaning up after them. I've toyed with the idea of requesting Moderation privileges just so I can straighten it all out, but then I'm afraid I might have to do other real moderation chores...

Instead I think I'll stick to complaining from the sidelines.

The SJ Forum is as dead as a door nail and should be merged with the SF one. Maybe, to salve the easily bruised egos of the South Bay Boosters / separatists, change the name to the SF Bay Forum or Bay Area Forum.

I like the Bay Area forum idea a lot.

Everything all-in-one.

No more double-posts, no more Fremont/Milpitas in the SF Forum and not SJ. For the administrator to think about it seriously, it should be noted that it could reduce the amount of posts on the board, and thus, bandwidth use.
