Hi all, I'm moving to California and I need advice on a place to live
Hello all,
My partner and I are moving to California very soon and we need advice on where to live as we know nothing about the place.
I'm looking for a area that's very low crime, excellent schools, diverse culture, very high density (at least 20k/sq mi), near the beach, near the mountains, near the country, gated 3000 sqft homes with a huge front yard and back yard. I don't want to have to leave a 10 mile radius to see all the sites and to experience all the cultural events. I need my city to be at least 1 million people with high density but I don't want to deal with a lot of traffic and I don't want my subways crowded. I also don't want to deal with bums.
The area also needs to have a good market with diverse employment opprotunities. I don't wan to live in a one industry town. I also want my commute to be at most 15 minutes. At best, I like to live in a community where I would be able to walk from my gated ranch home to my coporate job downtown with very little foot traffic inbetween. Did I mention I don't want to see any bums on the way?
Latestly, I am on a VERY tight budget. I will only be able to afford $950/month at most.
Please advice.

If you could kick your budget up to $1100/month you should have no problem at all.

well let's see now, maybe if we move about 20 cities together and build a water park so you will have your beach we can find the perfect place for you.

"I need my city to be at least 1 million people with high density but I don't want to deal with a lot of traffic and I don't want my subways crowded."
This is easy, because only two cities in California have populations over 1 million: Los Angeles and San Diego. Both have a lot of traffic, but you're in luck: San Diego doesn't have any crowded subways because it doesn't have any subways.
