Redding CA
My family and I are considering moving to Redding CA from Soldotna, AK. I have been trying to find pics on google and google earth of the place and surrounding area but am not having alot of luck.
If anybody can steer me in the direction of some, or take some, that would be greatly appreciated.
Also, what are the winter like? What months do the snow come/leave and how much do you get? Do you get alot of sunshine?
Is there any BMX and Downhill Mountain Bike races/organizations there?

There's no snow in Redding during the winter - just rain, but it's an hour drive or so east towards the mountains and Mt. Lassen Nat. Park for snow. Summer can get warm in Redding - often over 100 degrees, but with low humidity.

Hello,
I just moved to Redding a year ago from San Diego, CA. My husband's family is from here. I'm in the Real Estate Business with my father in law, Mike Rossiter. I have never lived away from the Ocean but since I moved here I haven't missed anything about my hometown. There's Lake Shasta 5 minutes away, The Sacramento river runs through Redding. We're surrounded by Mountains and have beautiful seasons here. Skiing is 45 minutes away and great restuarants around town. I belong to Sun Oaks Fitness facility www.sunoaks.com and Absolutely love this Tennis/ Fitness and Swim country club. Home prices here are at the lowest ever making it the best time to buy. Let me know if you would like me to email you any pictures of Redding, www.visitredding.com/sundial/sundial101.cfm
Or give you any housing info.
My name is Julia Rossiter, Realtor with Coldwell Banker C&C Properties

I'm a native of the Red Bluff-Redding area. Been here all my 52 years-except for military service. I'll see if I can forward some pictures to you directly. Generally posting on a response limits the size of the photos.
Winters are wet. Summers are long and brutally dry and hot. 115 degrees is possible. Daytime highs over 100 degrees are normal during July and August.
Redding is surrounded on three sides by mountains-Cascades, Sierras and Coast Range. There's many outdoor related activities in the area. All in all, its a decent place to live-so long as you can entertain yourself. Its probably not the best place for someone used to the services offered in more urban areas. Keep in mind it is California though, with all the pluses and minuses that accompanies...

I have lived in Redding for over 30 years and I could give you lots of information.
The winters are about 3 - 4 months long with about 30 inches of rain sometimes snow every 5 years. We have lots of mountains, lakes, and trees.
We have Mount Shasta within one hour away, and Lake Shasta right here in
Redding.
I can give you a lot more information if you like Redding is a very interesting place to live. And yes there are BMX places to race and downhill mountain bike races.
What is your profession?
I hope I have been of some help to you. I have a retreat called the Glory Mountain Retreat if you need a place to stay for a visit in the mountains about 10 minutes from the city. I could direct and help you find the places you need to find.

Say Goodbye to the Snow (Unless you Want Some...)
You can view a slide show of the area at www.redbluffca.us/attractions; there are also shows of nearby Red Bluff. We had one day with snow/sleet last year; if you don't want to give up the snow completely, there are some small towns in the higher elevations you could choose to have a few inches.
