California Bonds advertising in other states????
Why oh why is the State Treasuer of California advertising NON STOP in other states for us to buy "California Bonds" to help improve the schools and such IN CALIFORNIA!?!?!?!?! NO! I'm NOT going to buy your bonds. And stop wasting even MORE money running these ads nonstop in other states. Maybe someone in California needs to see how much money the State Treasurer is WASTING on these ads.
The first time I heard it on the radio I seriously thought it was a comedy skit on the morning radio program. It wasn't!?!?!?!

Because I wanted to get the perspective of Texans on that forum about the advertising and then the people IN California. I'm sure that must be hard for you to understand and it wasn't the same exact questions being asked in both.
Maybe you could help out by sending your Delaware Dollars to California to help them out.

Many many Californians invest in CA bonds because the interest paid is not only free from Federal taxes, but State and local (if any) taxes as well. Personally I don't need to shelter income as I own a real estate company I have plenty of losses to ameliorate my income.
I get calls from Texans all the time wanting me to invest in Oil and Gas deals. I think I'd rather buy CA bonds!
BTW, the cost of advertising the sale of billions of dollars in bonds is minuscule and more than likely paid by the underwriters from their fees. If they use the State Treasurer for the "voice talent" so much the better. He actually has done a great job handling the problems we've had over the past few months and has stood up to the Governor and the State Legislature.
