Hello. I have moved from Massachusetts to the California (SF Bay Area) and am trying to find a way to move a small-medium room worth of goods (mainly papers, clothes, tools, electronics, etc). What is a good method to get the goods over?

I have considered pods but I live in an apartment and do not have any where to ship it too, as I have moved alone. I have tried shipping some of the items via usps/ups but have had things arrive broke or damaged on a normal basis, plus getting someone to package it up and send it is a a project. I don't have a problem with packing the stuff up myself, I could fly over and get it done all at once. Any ideas?

Thanks

Depends how much stuff you have. I've moved my whole life several times but all my belongings can fit in a bedroom, I purposely keep a "light" life of belongings for this reason. I would suggest packing things into boxes very systematically and shipping using USPS, and have everything marked FRAGILE even if it's not. Tell them it's China ware and they will stamp it real good for you.
Also, if you have a car pack it full. Under seats, in all the nooks and crannies. Leave no space vacant. Do this and you should be ok.

If you don't have a lot of stuff I too would suggest UPS or just get rid of everything and start over when you get here.
