PS - there is also a new community sprouting north of Davis called Plumas Lake (30 minutes away), LOTS of young newlyweds and young kids. The schools are new and everything is clean and affordable!

I have lived in the Santa Cruz area my whole life and I haven't ever liked it. Don't get me wrong that a lot of people like the ocean and people and scenery as well as mild climate, but if you want a real place to be it would have to be around Aromas. Santa Cruz and the surrounding areas (rip off) have lots of traffic, just terrible. There has also been a large increase in crime and if you go explore around tourist areas you will find lots of homeless, druggies, freaks, and an unbelievable amount of litter. The laws leave something to be desired, but it depends on what kind of people you are. But just remember these few things as well as gangs and freaks and annoying people. But, a lot od people DO like it here.

San Luis Obispo is extremely safe - but it's EXTREMELY expensive

Let's think of million dollar homes
