Population biology doesn't assert that humans are "the problem." The mathematics of populations ecology is the problem. No living organism in the history of the planet has ever gone into population overshoot without population collapse resulting as the inevitable outcome. Do you think Homo sapiens will be the first to pull that off?

What's your source on that? I don't see people leaving "in droves". In fact, all of the predictions are that the population will continue to grow rapidly in the coming decades.

The population will definitely continue to increase...but it is a lot of the CA natives that are leaving, and a lot of people from other countries coming in...CA is the melting pot, anyone can be here and be accepted an fit in. While more and more diverse peoples come, they bring their cultures, etc. with them, and that changes the areas they live in when you have alrge crowds of them. It isn't a bad thing- it is just how it is. I for one cannot wait to get out of Cali, there are several things i do not like about this state. It is funny to go to some of these other forums on here, you can see that many of the natives from the other states complain about Californians taking over the other areas just as the other people are taking over California.

Admitedly, my only source is people whom I personally know who have either left, are in the process of leaving, or (the largest of the three groups) would like to leave. At my place of work, 90% of those whom retire leave California like the next day!

So, I my statement is not based on statistical information. It's based on first hand experience.

People like to beat up on the big guy. That's what that's about. It's a small-minded way to handle things, in my opinion.

It has become a ****hole, thats what happened.

Outmigration is about 150,000/year. I'm sure it will be waaay higher when the new census comes out.

But hey, its still overcrowded due to births and immigrants!! Allsome!!

You stated earlier that humans are behind every major problem in the world. Let me explain why your contention that humans are the cause of the worlds destruction is wrong.

Even as our population grows, our food production rises and standard of living goes up. Our cities grow enormously, but never seem to run out out of space. Why?

The answer is because even as our population grows in absolute terms, we are constantly finding new ways to solve problems (overpopulation for example). We solved the problem of overpopulation by increasing production, efficiency and by building skyscrapers (building up). For this reason, our population increases exponentially every year but we never run out of cheap food and housing.

We will eventually solve the problem of deforestation (paper subsitute) and global warming (renewable energy) through the spontaneous mechanisms of the marketplace. No intervention neccessary. No need to return to the caves.

The human brain is not whats wrong with the world, it actually represents natures greatest acheivement.
