Default Opinions on Burbank

My husband and I are going to be moving to CA in about a year. We are currently living in WA. We were looking at Burbank. How is it as far as safety and affordability? My husband is going into the film industry so if anyone has any suggestions on the better places to live, anything would be helpful.

Burbank is a nice city. In the area, it is the best place to live, in my opinion. Most of Burbank's neighborhoods are clean and safe. It is not inexpensive, however. Depending on what you are looking for, it can run from moderate (for the area) to very expensive. What I'm referring to is the cost of housing. Other expenses are pretty reasonable, except for gas, which shouldn't be too much of an issue, since Burbank and many film industry locations are very close (many of the major studios are in Burbank). Groceries, clothing, furniture, appliances, and so on can all be found at very reasonable prices in and around the L.A. area, which includes Burbank. Again, I would recommend Burbank, and can't think of any other places in the immediate area that would be better, with the exception of Toluca Lake, which is very expensive.

Default I grew up in Burbank

Hello. I grew up in Burbank, and lived there for 21 years. Good schools. I now live in Shadow Hills...about 10 minutes away. It is lovely here. You should look into it. Every house is on 1/2 an acre, an it is all horse property. It's like country living, but very close to everything. If schools are important though, stay in Burbank unless you are willing to go private.
