I think SoCal has pretty good weed, but I think you will be better off in NorCal weed wise. It's good quality here in San Diego, but on the expensive side. 8th for $50.

Not that weed. Weed the town. I guess I'll have to learn to live with a little
play on words.

MT Shasta (and Weed, I KNEW WHAT YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT!)
Mt shasta is on one side of the mountains and the other side is Yreka, I think MT Shasta is cleaner and cooler (it's in the hilly area) they might even get some light snow during the Winter.
It's more then an hour away from Redding (scorching hot town!)

Weed heating costs
Best is wood. Lots of down trees, can get wood permit for USFS. Propane now is $2.79 /g delivered. Home heating fuel oil is about $2.95 a gal. All hydrocarbon fuels will accelerate in price over the coming years.
Next best sources are heat pumps which run on electricity which is cheaper here due to hydro power and wind/solar.

I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, and am wanting to move myself and my family to Nor Cal. I have some friends who live in Legget, they say it's real nice, but I would like some input on other places in Northern California. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I love big trees, big mountains, and HIGH spirits. PLEASE.

Shasta is gorgeous! Cute little downtown area. People seem generally friendly. Because it is fairly small, seems like everyone knows everyone. Lots of places to sled in the winter and a ski resort.

You need to come visit. I can't believe anyone would recommend Leggett. I't a dump and lots of hard drugs (meth), and I hope that's not what you're looking for. Marijuana is ubiquitous. Big trees and big mountains are not in the same places. The Redwoods are mostly in the coastal areas, not in the Sierras. What kind of climate and economy are you looking for?
