Is the area on North Iris above Country Club Drive in Escondido safe?
I recently discovered a house for a phenomenal price in what appears to be a decent neighborhood. The house is on N. Iris almost at the end by the cul-de-sac. It is North of Country Club Dr. and the cul-de-sac almost dead ends into Jack Rabbit Acres Rd.
Does anyone know anything about this area. The Photos of this house are great. And when I google earthed it, and zoomed to the street view, the surrounding houses looked nice and there were no rundown vehicles or "Gangsta" looking vehicles with all the accoutrements like obscene sized rims or ugly paint jobs parked anywhere on the st. It is very close to N. Broadway Elem. though which I've heard on this forum is not that great of an area. But then I have also heard that N. of Country Club isn't supposed to be bad at all. What I'm getting at is. Does anyone know if I'm gonna have to listen to drunk illegals listening to Accordian music all night in their front yard, and gangbangers patroling the streets after dark. I'm just looking for a quiet middle class neighborhood where I can come home after work and relax. I am hoping this is it, as I am moving from out of state and my job keeps me gone 19 days a month so I am going to be renting by internet and pics only. I don't have the time or extra money for visits to shop around before I move, so I am depending on you guys on this forum to help out with some info on the area.

That price is way too good to be true. You should be tipped off by the fact that the second cheapest 3-br in Escondido is $600 more. There's something fishy going on. Either the house is in foreclosure or the person who put up the ad is really in Nigeria.

I don't know how familiar you are with Escondido but in my opinion, you are crazy to even consider Escondido. Little wannabie gangbangers everywhere - Illegal residents all over the map, sex offenders, the list goes on. Escondido started a downhill trend 20 years ago. Just look at the school district and percentage of population as far as racial makeup and number of rentals etc.....Heck, just drive around Escondido a couple of times, would you want to live here??? Thats why we moved a long time ago.
