lake elisnore and southern california (Irvine: cheap house, living in, safest)

I am moving to california from out of state and wanted to know how the commute was from living in irvine to getting to lake elisnore, is it more or less than an hour?? Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Is the drive safe?? thanks and hope to hear from someone soon!

Ortega Highway (CA-74) is a two lane highway through the mountains. Not the safest road in the world. The other route, in on the 91, is one of the most congested freeways in the state. Either way, you'll hate that commute without a helicopter.

edit: just re-read you post. Most people go the other way because the jobs are in OC and the cheap houses are inland. Irvine to Elsinore is against traffic so the 91 is the better choice. Its still a long drive though.
