Default EMT/Paramedic

Well i'm going to school for EMS in North Carolina soon but i plan on moving to California after my 2 years because I absolutely love California. I was wondering if anyone here is a Paramedic, knows a Paramedic etc etc and could give me some info on where to go in Cali. I was looking at Contra Costa because their Fire Department has one of the highest Salary's (did a quick google search) but i don't know anything about that county. Any suggestions ?

If the fire departments in Contra Costa county pay high wages, it's probably to off-set the high cost of living in the SF Bay Area. Housing is very expensive here . In fact most everything is more expensive here than in NC.

This is very true....higher wages definitely equate with higher cost of living. The predominant medical response companies in my County...Contra Costa...and surrounding Bay Area is: A.M.R. They employ both EMT's and Paramedics. I don't know the wage, I've never asked my sister-in-law. She lives here in CoCoCo and is a paramedic in San Jauquin County next door; she is afraid she would have to roll on a friend or family member and decided that is too close for comfort.
Good luck. Study hard.
