Not really, the energy infrastructure is under-utilized at night so it does not make much difference.

I'm originally from Georgia, is there a big difference in the lifestyles there? I know that the area is republican. Which is a plus for me.
Does the West coast have their own particular culture?

Only times I have been to the West Coast was ages ago and I was in San Diego. I was a child so I hardly remember anything.

Thanks in advance.
There are a lot of threads on Fresno. Search for them. Fresno/Selma are more like the Oklahoma or Texas than any stereotypical California you see on TV. Selma is the Raisin Capital of the World. It is a farming area. Fresno is very multicultural. Its downtown needs to be revitalized. The air is bad. It is foggy in the winter and hot in the summer. It's a dry heat.

Although the central valley is considered Republican the north and south are definitely democratic liberals which unfortunately dictates the way of life here so to speak. The laws here are getting ridiculous, to the point that we are no longer going to be able to purchase big screen TV's, several guns are illegal to own,ect pretty much a socialist state. The government is responsible for you in CA you are not responsible for your action at all its someone else's fault. As is evident in all of the ridiculous law suits here. Sorry about that, got a little carried away there. Now then back to task, although English is still the prevailing language you will find more and more bill boards in Spanish. There is a few millionaires here however there is a huge amount of folks on welfare. I also agree with the other person who said that even if we are republican the republicans here are not as conservative as other 'actual' red states. As for location I agree with the other poster, the location is great! you are a couple of hours from everything, mountains, ocean, amusment park. ect. Hope this helps.
The OP did not say CA is a red state. She said the Fresno/Selma area are conservative, which they are.

They're only conservative for California, though. Oklahoma was mentioned earlier, I grew up there and Fresno is way more liberal than any place in Oklahoma.

Oh, I meant Oklahoma as far as culture, not politics. Sorry. I just mean it isn't all beaches and perfect weather like you see on TV.
