There is pending legislation in the California Assembly that would legalize marijuana in California. There is also a movement to legalize it by a ballot initiative.

What are the chances that legalization will happen, and if it does, do you think the federal government will stop it?

If this ever makes it on a ballot - it will not pass. Easier to forge voting results than to discourage the ticket. The state and feds make more money pretending to fight it. The forest service even have a stake in this.

I would hope that Californians legalize Marijuana but I don't think it will happen. There is just a lot of money being made on fighting marijuana related "crime".

It will likely happen one way or the other. Why did you ask? It is California after all.

Polls show 56% of californians wanting to legalize...Prohibition of weed is one of our countries biggest mistakes. I dont need to go into all of the logical details. If it doesnt pass now, it will eventually. Theres no easy way to put this, but the older reefer madness senior citizens need to pass away first because they wont accept certain ideas.

i hope it's legalized. with that said, the movement is growing and even if it doesn't pass this time around, i'm certain it will in the next few years as more and more conservative old schoolers die off.

Yeah, pretty much anybody 40 and younger supports it. Its the 50+ group that tends not too, though I asked my Grandma once (80's) and she really does not care.
