What I mean is like at night, are there any areas in California where things are still open and people are still walking around like in New York or Hong Kong? Or are Nightclubs the only thing that is open?

Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood is about the closest I can think of. I've lived in Tokyo and West Hollywood isn't as active as, say, Roppongi or Shinjuku for the sheer number of bars, brothels and clubs that are open in the early morning hours.

You can always go to Tijuana south of the border in Mexico, but that can be a little dangerous.

Depends on the area you are interested in. I live in the Coachella Valley and any night of the week you can be out walking in Palm Springs - it's always hopping and the shops stay open later too. You can also be out walking around in Palm Desert around the El Paseo. Of course, you have your nightclubs like every place, but there are also clothing shops and gelato or frozen yogurt shops open, or you can pop into one of our many fabulous restaurants and have a nice after dinner drink or a dessert. Our area is BIG on doing outdoor things at night.

I'm a night person who loves to do as you describe. My favorite places are Old Pasadena, Third Street Promenade, west Sunset Blvd, Hollywood Blvd around Hollywood around Hollywood and Highland, Universal Citywalk. Santa Monica Blvd in boystown (Weho) is a great gay spot.

Sorcerer usually walks around with an armor plated vest and his hands in his pockets. One pocket has pepper spray, the other a ball point pen, which he uses to stab his attackers with.... He likes to have fun but he also knows how to take precautions...

Another thing you should know is that L.A. usually shuts down at 10PM so there is no real reason to be out late at night...
