I read in the Sacramento Bee that Texas has nearly as many inmates as California, but operate their jails at a little more than 1/3 of our cost. I haven't seen the specific numbers myself, but I wonder if California "benchmarks" some of their processes and costs against what other states are currently doing.

I'm not advocating going to lowest cost, especially if services are inadequate. But I wonder if we do a critical analysis of our cost for things such as prisons against other states, and where those results would be published.

At this stage of the game, probably nothing short of this:

But I don't advocate it.

I rather like a certain sheriff in Arizona's approach to housing, feeding and working inmates!

Its time for a 3rd political party. Its obvious the nation is getting sick of Democrats and Republicans. Same thing can be said to a much higher degree in this state. Gary Davis brought in all the hate early this decade so Arnold could become our "savior".

Greatest recall ever. Arnold is quite possibly the most disspointing governor ever.

Democrats & republicans are equally bad. Some of those salaries are unbelievable. No wonder ca is broke & the thieves in sacramento want more.
