If you had a choice and no other options, where would you live. Either San Clemente, Oceanside, and/or Temecula are your options.

I'd switch Oceanside and Temecula, but that's because Oceanside doesn't have the greatest schools or have the reputation as a great family community and I find those things important.

So: San Clemente, Temecula, Oceanside

Oh gosh, Temecula is horribly isolated.

That's why I took Oceanside over Temecula. Where do people in Temecula work? I guess Poway and North San Diego County (lots of jobs there for sure), but at 42 miles that would be the closest job cluster (for me).

One sort of good thing about Oceanside is a person could work in North San Diego and in an emergency commute to Orange County.

As for schools, yes Oceanside schools don't look too hot. Would Carlsbad count as Oceanside (for the intentions of the original poster)? It's schools look a lot better.

And this is a bad thing? A breakup from the concrete jungle is nice, and it's not downwind from a nuclear power plant

I lived in Oceanside from 1989 to 2004. The schools are not good. Temecula is too isolated. I don't know enough about San Clemente to comment on it. I would suggest Carlsbad over Oceanside or even Encinitas.

San Clemente schools aren't stellar either.

But this is predicated on the assumption that the OP cares about schools. Since his username ends with "91", it's a fair guess that he's 19 years old and most likely childless. So, San Clemente, Oceanside, Temecula.
