I think they placed Cretin City (aka Crescent City) at number 5. Somebody was doing heavy drugs at the time.

That's hard to believe. It certainly deflates any credibility from the list. CC could easily earn an ugliest city award. Sure, the redwoods in the surrounding area are nice, but...CC itself? yechhh!

I was surprised to see that too. Maybe they know something about CC that we dont know?
The parts of town I saw were not "pretty", the area is of course.

You're close. It was the toxic waste spill and mutant flesh-eating spiders. The spiders themselves were non-toxic.....but just as deadly, in a different sort of way.
