Look jack*** it was an honest question. I don't know anybody in california, and the last thing I'd want is to end up MIA, in a hole in the desert.

When I take my granddaughter to Clifton's or Philippe, she's the 5th generation to dine there.

It may have been an honest question, but it was a monumentally stupid one. Next time, try not to lump "California" in with the criminal gang banging element. Until then, take your lumps like a man and apologize.

Your not worth arguing with. Just stay in your suburban bubble.

I was born here in 1965

Mom born in Chicago in 1940

Dad born in Dallas in 1938

Guess I fit the mold.

What about my kids though they were all born here in the state?

To the OP, when a Gang member is asking where someone is from chances are they are asking someone that looks like them, another potential gang member.

Fontucky is legit. He lives in one of those places where they ask, "Yo homes, where you from?".

I agree it was a stupid question. It's a question about gangs and criminals and can happen anywhere because, unfortunately, gangs are not limited to CA or any other state. If you want to come here AS a gang member or criminal then yes, it's a legit question and my answer is to just insult the guy with the gun and be put out of your misery asap. We don't want you here anyway.

CA is all outsiders, it's very transient in the areas where the jobs are becuase people come here on transfer or with a "California Dream". As a native it is hard for me to make and keep adult friends because people move with the wind these days. And as a worker or professional you will not feel any hostility towards you at all.
