Hi everyone...

My boyfriend and I are heading to Palm Springs in May for a weekend getaway....does anyone have any recommendations of where to stay or avoid? Looking for a place with nice pools to relax by and some good golf courses as well.

Thanks!!

Pretty much anywhere. Every hotel you see in PS has a pool, or several, and a good number of them have golf courses too.

There are so many places in Palm Springs you may want to post this question on the San Bernardino section for people's reactions who live in the Coachella valley.

Rancho Mirage Hotels: Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa westin.com

Sept I stayed at the Doral in Cathedral City/Palm Springs area...AWESOME great deal on expedia just ask for a top floor at ANY HOTEL so no bugs and walk into your room..Seems that everyone in Palm Springs was having this problem with bottom floor hotels.

Never thought about bugs, but we always stay on the top floor of a hotel because we don't want people jumping around and walking/running above us. WE want to be the ones making all the ruckus!

I live in the Palm Springs area so I am VERY familiar with the "guests" you had in your room!!!

Do you want an upscale type of place, or a moderate one?

I like the Royal Sun Inn on East Palm Canyon Drive. It provides a terrific breakfast every morning, has a pool, even a laundry room. Rates aren't as moderate as they used to be but still aren't bad.

There's the Travelodge next door, too, but I prefer Royal Sun.

While you're there take a few hours to go to the Indian Canyons on the Indian Reservation. Easy to get there from that motel. It is the most awesome experience ~ especially Palm Canyons. You may have to rent a car to do it, though. May falls into that cusp of phasing out of the "high season" for tourists.

Thanks to everyone....we decided on the Mira Monte Resort in Indian Wells. It looks really nice online and got good reviews on expedia....
