I've been told that most high school grads aspire to become Starbucks managers in Redding (somewhat facetiously, somewhat truthfully), as there are few industries with growth potential. So don't shy away from a coffeeshop job either.

Do note that Redding is very, very hot. Pine Valley at least has a bit more elevation, and I know it gets hot, but Redding frequently gets to like 108F hot.

We lived in Redding for the last 3 years. It is the worst place to live. It should be called RedNecking not Redding. It is scenic place but not for young professionals like us. We came from San Jose and it feels like we are living in Dark Age with bunch of high school dropped out idiots. I will not recommend even my enemy to move here, thank God I don’t have any such enemy
