But I have lived here since 1971 and know what this place was like before all the black and mexican gangbangers came to town. And when I said the blacks and mexicans in my earlier response I guess I should have made that clear. The bottom line is that this Valley has gone to ****. Real quick let me ask you this. How many neighborhoods in Lancaster alone have been completely bulldozed over over the last 10 or 12 years? Theres the one over behind the old fairgrounds. Then theres the entire block between cedar and beeche street on the north side of ave I. And how about the four or five strrets of apartments directly across from the hospital on ave J? Everyone of these neighborhoods were predominantly black or mexican neighborhoods. Am I right or wrong? Why were these neighborhoods torn down and are dirt fields right now? Could it be because the people that lived in them completely ****en ruined them?? Or maybe the crime rate became so high in these areas and the murder rate was so far above the normal compared to {other } neighborhoods. Right now as I type this letter I can honestly say that there are neighborhoods in Lancaster that anyone regardless of their race would be taking a chance driving through or walking through not only at night but during the day too. I'm sorry if you were offended by what I said in my response but Everything I wrote was the truth and you know it.
Ok I have lived in Lancaster on and off since December 2004 and have no idea about these bulldozed neighborhoods you speak of. I am also a home owner and don't have to deal with apartment dwellers as apparently you do. With that being said, if the issue is these "black and mexican gangbangers" maybe the people who actually own the properties should have been more selective with whom they rented to? You dont get to blame me or an entire race because of the selective few you have been in contact with. What I have seen in Lancaster are a nice group of Nazis who dont have any ba--s when there is more than one minority around but will harass a person when they are on their own. No matter what way you try to word it, you are a racist through and through and it sounds as if you need to move to an area where there are only people who look like you, so you can be happy. Good luck to you and God bless.

So you're going to subject yourself to that just because of what other people say?

Driving that distance everyday is far more dangerous than living in Lancaster/Palmdale.

Yikes! That is quite the commute.
While I wouldn't want to live in the Lancaster/Palmdale area (I spent 8 years in Rosamond...that was enough AV for me!) there are other areas that are closer that you could choose.

well, i have alot of coworkers who live in Santa Clarita (who don't necessarily work at Edwards), but one of them apparently worked at Edwards for 5 years, and SHE commuted. if she can do it, so can i!

I visited Santa Clarita today. It looks great!! Sure, very cookie cutter, none of this "Bohemian" crap which i don't really care for, but I really like it!!!

I'll visit Lancaster / Palmdale.....but I dunno. Just the fact that there *is* so much discussion about Lancaster / Palmdale...maybe best to stay away.

DON'T move there, I grew up there and the town is a HOLE! It is SO bad! Almost every marriage doesn't survive that place and it is just bad, The temperature is the least of your worries, I live in AZ now so the heat doesn't bother me and there is cools down a lot at night so it is not too bad, but the town is horrible I would not recommend living there no matter how cheap the land is!!

This house is located in West Palmdale. Beautiful right?

This house is located WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE of the first house above

This is the BACK YARD of the second house.

How do you know that the so called "great area of West Palmdale" is so great unless you GO THERE, drive around and look for yourself?

Why would any intelligent person take someone else's word for it?

Maybe the people bad mouthing the area DON'T WANT YOU TO MOVE HERE?

Hell it's crowded enough.

Tehachapi is beautiful but be warned - it snows there and you can get snowed in. Not often but it does happen.

Every area in every city in every state in the US has a "bad area" -- even Beverly Hills. There will always be the fact that no matter where you live you cannot control WHO MOVES IN next door to you unless YOU BUY THE HOUSE YOURSELF. But you may as well buy the entire block just to be sure. LOL
