For meeting a mate and eventually getting married, which area (Southern California or Northern California) best meets this criteria?

Why not average both probabilities, and try to meet someone half way, like in Bakersfield, Porterville, or maybe Fresno?

Also, for black males seeking a relationship with either non-white latinas or Asian/Pacific Islander women, which area is best (Southern or Northern California)?

The brutal honest truth is that there are many more jobs in Southern California and there are lots of people from out of state willing to move to SoCal to fill those jobs. That means, since more guys then girls are willing to move, that the ratio of guys to girls in SoCal is not as good as in NorCal. To make matters worse there are lots of gays in NorCal meaning there are a shortage of straight men in places like San Fransisco. That's the hard truth. Though if you aren't a total reject then the total date pool in SoCal is much, much larger then in NorCal so if you can out compete the others then you'll find better selection.

Which is better? It just depends if you're an alpha or beta male. Your odds of getting just any girl are better in NorCal but then the odds are good you'll get a hairy nonsoap using beast.

This thread doesn't give me hope for other threads here. As for California? It's been number one for so long in America that it is hard to believe it won't be number one again. This is just one recession so the loser flier over states are trying to prey on the Kingpen when he's down.

I travel to NorCal for work and it seems the men outweigh the women quite a bit. This is primarily due to men coming to work for tech companies disproportionately to women.

Except for the more urban and hi-tech areas, actually, most of the state seems to have more women than men. Although the Central Valley & NorCal appear to have the highest numbers of women. But I'm kinda suspecting that alot of those gals are probably as old as my grandma!

While it's true, that SF does have a reasonably large population of gay men, they aren't the majority of men. How did you conclude that there are lots of gay men in Northern CA as opposed to Southern CA. You do realize that SF is a mere 49 square mile city don't you? To lump all of Northern CA into SF is absurd.
I'm sorry, it's just that being a straight guy who just so happens to not have one single gay friend or acquaintance, I find it pretty ridiculous when somebody spouts off "facts" without any real knowledge. This isn't meant to offend anybody who's gay, but just to point out that many people give retarded info on this website.
To the OP, in all reality, I think the dating scene in both Northern and Southern CA is in womens' favor. Unlike what the previously quoted poster says, here in the Bay Area (especially San Jose/Silicon Valley), there tends to be slightly more men than women. However, there does tend to be a higher nerd concentration in the Bay Area.
So, to answer your question...I don't think there is an answer to your question
