I have been hearing mixed things, looking to move out there next year and work in a hotel somewhere, lots of jobs posted online but who's the job outlook?

I've never seen a slow summer on the California coast. Being high-season, I can only imagine that the temporary job outlook is all right.

It's probably too early to say. I would think that there are some areas in California showing some significant improvements. I was speaking with my colleague during our trip back home to California from a conference in Texas. His property is located in Los Angeles, while I work in the Bakersfield area. The obvious contrast is the type of market. His market is geared towards tourists while mine is made up of corporate workers in the oil/gas and construction business.

Overall, California will probably be well underway to recovery, but you may find some areas to be lagging behind. Do some research on your target area before you commit to a move.
