This is a new one for me. Just happened to be standing next to the the trailer today ( actually packing it to go to the lake ) and saw a huge red wasp fly into the outside stove vent. Took a flashlight and looked inside a saw HUGE nest inside ( about the size of an orange )!! There is no way to put one of those mess screens so I guess there is no way to prevent this from happening again.

Sure there is.........just carefully attach one thickness of metal window screening to the outside of existing vent with some thin, steel mechanic's wire.

We thought of that too but on this model ( 2008 Hyperlite) there's no place to put a screen and there is no off season for us.

Not familiar with that model, but sounds like you could just fire the furnace on for a few minutes once a week.

Can you imagine if you'd found them after getting to the lake? Waking up at dawn to a bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz inside your trailer?

Hubby sprayed some Bug Out wasp killer in there yesterday and killed them all, got the nest out just now. It was huge and full. There's one even one trying to hatch. Yuck.

We've been able to screen off all of the vents with either tape or magnet strips to secure the screen. I'd find a way even if it meant taking off the vent, installing the screen and replacing the vent.

We were next to a camper last year who discovered a nest of yellow jackets in his vents. He sprayed them during the day time, right before he checked out and we spent the next few days dealing with the very angry survivors.

What about and piece of metal mosquitoes screening held on with a hose clap on the very end of the pipe?
