I'm glad I read this thread because next time I'm going camping in an organized campground I'm going to be sure to pick one that prohibits dogs.

Yes, pets can be conversation starters.

I like seeing peoples' dogs and I like watching kids play for some reason.

I'll choose the campgrounds that allow kids and pets -- I've even been to some that allow horses. They have them at one end.

Ohio Sate Parks allow Kids (on leashes) "Just kidding" . But they do have area's specially for pets and some have horse sections as well.
I want to get a pet skunk and walk around with it on a leash just to see people reaction .

Been there. Only it was mom crawling on top of our motorhome to get the kids birdy. I wasn't napping, but it made me mad to no end. She almost damaged our moto-sat and it sent our usually well-behaved fur-ball into a barking frenzy...

I like kids too.. but when camping... I'll take the dogs any day....

there are a number of reasons i like no pets .when camping no barking dogs at 2 in the morning no dog urine or dog feces left at my front door. no having to listen to dogs barking every time i leave my camper. if i wanted. a bunch of dogs around I would camp at a kennel.. and yes I like dogs have two of my own that i pay to have watched when we're camping/

I'm a strong beleiver that there is no such thing as bad dogs, just bad owners of dogs. Both labs that we've had I trained myself and when I said (Silence) to them, you never heard a sound out of either of them.
And the same goes for (Bad Parents) when kids get out of hand and are allowed to run amuck at the parks.
